Universal Orlando plans to expand its wildly-popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction in Central Florida, adding to a flurry of construction projects planned for major theme parks located near Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa. According to an Orlando Sentinel report, Universal Orlando officials did not reveal the details about the company’s expansion plans, but with their recently announced plans to close the Jaws ride in January, rumors are circulating that Wizarding World will expand into the second park, Universal Studios. Wizarding World opened at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in June 2010.
Universal’s expansion announcement ratchets up the construction activity at Central Florida theme parks. Parties interested in obtaining green cards and permanent U.S. residency can participate in two events to be conducted in November by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). On Wednesday, November 9, USCIS will lead another national Spanish-language Enlace session as part of an ongoing series of quarterly public engagements. Each Enlace session focuses on a specific immigration or citizenship topic and includes a Q&A session with USCIS officials.
On Tuesday, November 15, the USCIS Service Center Operations Directorate will host a national teleconference. The topic for the engagement is Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, and Form I-131, Application for Travel Document. This engagement will be hosted by the Texas Service Center and the Nebraska Service Center. The call will focus primarily on the combination advance parole employment authorization card (commonly known as the “combo card”), Optional Practical Training (OPT) for academic students, and other updates.
