The recent surge in EB-5 interest has been especially pronounced among nationals of Asian countries, according to the Migration Policy Institute. The US State Department reports that 79 percent of the EB-5 visas issued in 2009 were to applicants from Asia, more than half of who were Chinese nationals. MPI says this trend may indicate that the EB-5 investor visa program is becoming an especially attractive option for wealthy foreign nationals who might otherwise face long backlogs in family- or employment-based visa categories. Supporters of the EB-5 program have emphasized the program’s potential as an economic recovery tool. You can read the entire MPI report at http://bit.ly/7L2HGy.

The world’s largest Legoland will open in Central Florida by the end of 2011. It is expected to include 40-50 main attractions, including Lego’s signature kid-powered rides and giant Lego brick models. Officials hailed the capital investment and the fact that the park will create more than 1,000 jobs.
Amusement Today recently named Legoland California the “Best Children’s Park.” Florida will be Legoland’s fifth theme park and second U.S. location. The addition of a Legoland in the Sunshine State is part of a broader push into the U.S. market.

The number of foreigners (including investors and their immediate family members) who obtained EB-5 visas nearly tripled in the past fiscal year, according to the U.S. State Department. Most were from Asia, particularly China and South Korea.
An article in the Washington Post credits increased interest in EB-5 visas in part to the U.S. government and its efforts to streamline the program and improve administration of the complex rules that once discouraged potential investors. Several scholars expect the number to double again this year. To read the entire article, go to http://bit.ly/7bf6xI.

Our Orlando condo-hotel resort continues to receive rave reviews from Trip Advisor travelers. This one is from a family with young children in Miramar, Florida who visited our resort in December: “I would recommend this ‘hotel’ to any of my friends and family. I say this loosely as it is so much more than a hotel. It was like staying in a luxury apartment with all the amenities of home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with great furniture. The pool area and restaurant are just what you need to be away from the hecticness of Disney and great for the kids! Its location is wonderful and very easy to get to from all the theme parks.”

A young family from Portland, Oregon stayed at our condo-hotel resort near Walt Disney World and posted the following review on Trip Advisor: “Everything was excellent!! If you’ve traveled to Orlando, you know the variety of hotels and resorts is quite diverse; some good, some not. We were very pleasantly surprised with this resort. The service was excellent, the staff very accommodating, and the room was great! The pool was great, too – excellent service, good food, and the kids really enjoyed the “theme park”-like ship in the middle of it. Overall this was a great find, and we’ll definitely be back.”
